Unseen London: Cheap North London Hotels Close To The Amazing Unknown Sites Of The Capital

London has plenty of attractions for the first-time tourist – from the Houses of Parliament, Harrods and Buckingham Palace. For those who have already followed the tourist trail in the capital, it may be time to find what else London has to offer. If you want to see the other side of London, it isn’t a necessity to stay in the more expensive central London hotels. The cheaper North London hotels may be the ideal solution for the seasoned visitor, with excellent connections into central London yet close to untrodden, underrated sites.

If you want to be close to the centre of London’s legendary nightlife, then try the Five Kings Hotel in Tufnell Park. It is minutes from Camden Town. Here you can find hot nightspots like Koko and the Electric Ballroom, where you can pay a pittance to watch unsigned bands and artists performing. For those who are more interested in the vibrant fashion scene in London, Camden is home to one of London’s most eccentric and hip markets, held every weekend.

Try the Raglan Hotel in quaint Muswell Hill if you’re looking for a chilled-out break in the capital. The beautiful Edwardian architecture and massive green spaces make this area the perfect place to unwind. Hampstead Heath is only a couple of minutes from the Ragland hotel. Here you can spend your day in the swimming ponds, aimlessly strolling around or horse-riding. If you’re prepared to climb the gentle ascent of Parliament Hill, you’ll be rewarded with arguably the best view of London’s skyline.

If you’re looking for a small and friendly hotel in a brilliant location, check into Charlie’s hotel. It is incredibly close to all the sites of Highgate, only a couple of minutes walk from the centre of Highgate village. Highgate village is renowned for its second-hand bookshops and quaint cafes. The area has a sense of community that is difficult to find in other areas in the capital. Whilst in Highgate it’s worth visiting the Gothic cemetary. Here you’ll find the resting places of Karl Marx and Christina Rosetti, amongst many other notable figures.

To get an experience that most tourists will never gain, try to look beyond the typical sites to find the other side of London. North London hotels are one of the best areas to stay for those looking for the unseen sites of London.
